GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2016, at Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery in Comanche County.

VISITATION: None scheduled.

Roy Lee Jamar, age 81, went home to heaven on December 27, 2016.

Roy, born in Gorman, Texas, was raised in Comanche, Texas, and graduated from Comanche High School. He served as a medic in the United States Army. On September 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Dugger in Odessa. He worked in the parts department of Bronco Chevrolet in Odessa, and later at Carter Chevrolet in Crane where he was the service manager. He served as Crane County Commissioner. Roy went to work for an oil company and, after he retired, he and Dorothy moved to his family land in Beattie.

Roy is survived by his wife of sixty years, his everything, Dorothy Jamar; daughters, Debi Loeffler of Mason and Denice Griffin and husband Cody of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Chris Griffin and wife Marie of Nebraska, Ali Reeves and husband Lance of Texas, Justin Griffin and wife LaRee of Colorado; great-grandchildren: Caitlin and Aurora Griffin, and Savannah and Collin Reeves; sisters, Mary Sharpe, Myrtle Jones and Linda Guthrie and husband Buddy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elender (Crownover) Jamar; brothers, Hewell Jamar and Elvin Jamar; sisters, Doris Lewis, Nelda Weison, and Jeanie Henry; and son-in-law, Herbert Loeffler.
