William Bernard Hintner

Bernard Hintner, 86, of Stephenville, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel, with Don Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Blanket Cemetery in Blanket, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Bernard was born in Brown County, Texas, on December 4, 1930, on the family homestead to the late Benard Paul and Talma Louava Reagan Hintner. He married Shirley Crawford on May 30, 1957 in Coleman, Texas.

Bernard was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Army. He worked for Goodyear Tire Company in Brownwood. He worked several years in civil service for the Soil Conservation Service. After retiring he went back to work for the Stephenville ISD as a school bus driver. Bernard was a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ, for over 50 years and served the church as a Deacon and then later appointed Elder, positions he served for several years.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Shirley; son Bill and wife Teresa of Chickasha, Oklahoma; daughter, Amy Lindsey of Stephenville; grandchildren, Julie and husband George D. Phillips of Yukon, Oklahoma; Alicia and husband Jason Baughman of Lawton, Oklahoma; Ava Lindsey and fiancé Matt White of Stephenville; great grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Savannah, George W., and Brayden.
