Stephenville – Memorial service for Bobbie Elo Nichols, 97, a homemaker, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Cowboy Church of Erath County with Bro. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Lane Memorial Garden Cemetery in Eugene, Oregon. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Bobbie was born in Bryans Mill, Texas on December 30, 1919 to Leita and Richard Nichols.  She married Oscar Nichols on January 8, 1946, in Eugene, Oregon. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2000.

Bobbie moved from Oregon to Stephenville in 2007. She has been a resident of Stephenville ever since.

She was a member of the Cowboy Church of Erath County.

She also attended activities at the Senior Center in Stephenville for many years.

Survivors include her son, Richard Nichols of Stephenville, Texas; brother, Kenneth Kingston of New Boston, Texas; grandchildren, Cori Porter of Stephenville, Texas and Colleen Hannah of California; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Porter of Stephenville, Texas and Heather Hannah of California. Bobbie is also survived by many other extended family members and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leita and Richard Nichols; her husband, Oscar Nichols; sisters, Jean Taylor, Ruth Allen, Janice Graham, and Molly Bartlett; brother, Neal Griffin.

Memorials may be made to any St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital of choice.
