(January 24, 2017) — Both Stephenville soccer teams recorded wins on the road Tuesday evening, the Honeybees 3-0 at Alvarado and the Yellow Jackets 4-3 over Burkburnett.

It was the ninth straight win and shutout for the Bees, who are now 10-1 on the season and visit Burkburnett at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Claire Choate scored two goals one on a touch assist by freshman Hayleigh Beam after a nifty pass by Gracie Bales, who also had a goal and an assist. Johnston registered the other assist for the Bees, who have outscored their opponents 53-1 this season.

While Choate, just a freshman, earned a brace to lead the Bees, it was a senior with a brace on the victorious night for the Jackets.

Aaron Veloz scored two goals for Stephenville with the others coming from Hunter Melton and Logan Kirk. The Jackets are idle until February 3 when they meet Pampa at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls.
