STEPHENVILLE (February 10, 2017) — Cody Moore has been promoted from co-defensive line coach to defensive coordinator at Stephenville, confirms head coach Greg Winder.

Moore, who played college football at TCU, has coached defensive line alongside longtime assistant Kreg Kimple the last two seasons. He will now be coaching linebackers in addition to calling the defense.

“I’m very excited about the coaching staff we have and excited for Cody because I think he will do a great job,” said Winder, who has been head coach two seasons at Stephenville after returning in 2008 as offensive coordinator.

Moore replaces Jeffrey Thompson, a Stephenville alumnus who leaves after nine seasons on staff, the last five as defensive coordinator.

Winder said other coaching plans on the defensive side of the ball are for Kimple and Brad Wisener to direct the defensive line, Nolan Vosberg to guide the safeties and for Casey Hamilton to mentor cornerbacks. The head coach also said there is one position still open, likely for someone to assist with linebackers or safeties.
