James Mark Shadden, 81, a farmer and rancher, left this earthly home for the glories of heaven on February 17, 2017. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Huckabay Baptist Church with Brother Dale Pugh officiating. Burial will follow at Huckabay Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

James Mark was born in Hale County, Texas, on April 9, 1935, to Ofis and Linna Cooley Shadden. He married Virginia Guinn on May 22, 1955, in County Line, Texas. He served as a Deacon at Huckabay Baptist Church for many years. Mark farmed and ranched all his life and loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Shadden of Huckabay; children, Floyd Mark Shadden of Huckabay and Cyresse Allen, Kenneth Shadden and wife, Laura, of Stephenville, Phyllis Ann McCann and husband, Gene, of Morgan Mill, and James Brent Shadden and wife, Barbara, of Huckabay; grandchildren, Holly Sanders and husband, Curtis, Justin Shadden and wife, Morgan, Matthew Shadden and wife, Stormy, Clayton Iley and wife, Jenny, Amanda Holland and husband, Mackenzie, Natalie McCann, and James Brody Shadden; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Corbell, Cutter Sanders, Creed Sanders, Tyler Shadden, Braxton Helms, Atlee Shadden, Harley Shadden, Maybree Iley, and Zayden Torres. His extended family, Georgia Gushue and husband, Al, Margie Tannehill and husband, Lane, Ann Ivey and husband, Willie Jack, and Phil Guinn and wife, Susan. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ofis and Linna Shadden.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Huckabay Baptist Church.
