FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:00 pm. Friday, February 24, 2017 at Greens Creek Baptist Church.

INTERMENT: Lower Greens Creek Cemetery

VISITATION: Casual visitation during business hours on Thursday.

Ray Preston Sharp was born on October 5, 1923 in Bunyan, Texas. He went to be with his LORD on February 17, 2017 at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 12 days. Ray was the son of William Ocie Sharp and Ina Irene (Owen) Sharp. He was united in marriage to Wanda Geraldine Hall on April 15, 1949 in Dublin, Texas and to this union 2 children were born. He was preceded in death by brothers & sister – Bill, Maurice, Weldon, Nita & Eric Lynn.

Ray is survived by his wife – Geraldine of Dublin, Texas; his daughter & son-in-law – Sherryl & Charlie Finegan of Dublin, Texas; his son & daughter-in-law – Randall & Susan Sharp of Dublin, Texas; his grandchildren – Kyle Finegan, Shane Finegan, Brandi Tinboer & Aaaron Sharp; his great-grandchildren – Preston, Alora, Liam, Ezra, Amelia, Heagan Ronan, Rory & Ashton. His sisters – Helen Howell of Stephenville, Texas, Jo Ann Brantley of Midlothian, Texas, Patsy Easley of Corpus Christi, Texas and Rita Faegans of Texarkana, Texas; his brothers – Dwight Sharpe of Granbury, Texas, Bobby Sharp of Jacksboro, Texas and Gary Sharp of Dublin, Texas and a host of other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Ray was a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the U. S. Army. Before his retirement he was a courier, shipment & security agent for the Atomic Energy Commission. He was a member of the Greens Creek Baptist Church. He was the oldest child of thirteen children. The most important things to him were Jesus, his family, music, and people he encountered. He was a good example of how to live a Christian life and was adored by his grandchildren.
