Bluff Dale – Services for Deborah Kay McDonald-Cochran, 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Morgan Mill Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Rogers officiating. Pallbearers will be the Deacon body of the church. Burial will follow at Glenn Cemetery just east of Bluff Dale, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Lacy Funeral Home.

Deborah Kay McDonald-Cochran surrendered to God’s plan for her, and went to join Him on February 21st. She fought a good fight, but was overwhelmed by a short illness.

Deb. was born November 4, 1953, at the Amarillo Air Force Base Hospital in Potter County, Texas. She attended Hershi High School in Wichita Falls, Burkburnett High School, and graduated from a High School in Austin, Texas. Later she earned a BA Degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, and subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling at Tarleton State University. She exercised her LCDC license at a Minimum-Security facility in Breckenridge, Texas, finally moving to Henderson, Texas. There she provided Counseling in a Maximum-Security facility, where she became disabled by Rheumatoid Arthritis. This resulted in her retirement and returning to the Morgan Mill, Texas, area where she resided on the Family farm with her son, John Ruhd. Deb. was fond of cats and was known to some as ‘The Cat Lady’.

Deb. was active in the Morgan Mill Baptist Church, participating in several Ladies Bible study activities. She was also a regular at the Morgan Mill Senior Citizens group where she was known to provide Fried Okra and Pea Salad for the BI-Monthly pot-luck gathering.

She is survived by her son, John Clayton Ruhd, her Father, Frank Weldon McDonald, cousins Norman Densmore, Jim Densmore, Kenneth Densmore, and Elaine Evans.

Preceding her in death were her Mother, Sarita Marie Pennington McDonald, her Sister, Rachel Lynette McDonald, her Grandmother, Frankie Lou Densmore-McDonald-Sewell, and cousin Glenda Ruth Densmore-Harrel.
