(March 11, 2017) — Nolan Carroll was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Easton Jones drove in two runs to lead Stephenville to a 13-0 rout of Nocona to begin the final day of Henrietta tournament action Saturday.

Stephenville also tied Graham, 1-1, when the tournament drop dead rule was brought into effect in extra innings.

Lane Bullard pitched four innings of one-hit dominance against Nocona. He struck out seven batters without issuing a walk.

Trevor Easter stole home to give the Jackets the lead against Graha in the bottom of the second, and it lasted until the Steers tied the pitchers’ duel in the top of the sixth. Only Derek Gifford, Easter and Cody Storrs had hits for the Jackets.

Caleb Gibbons kept Graham just as in check, allowing only two hits while striking out nine in six innings. He successfully navigated four walks to give the Jackets opportunities for the win.

Stephenville is 10-2-2 on the season and begins 8-4A district play Tuesday at Venus. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m. The Jackets’ home opener is next Friday, March 17, against Midlothian Heritage, also a 8-4A opponent.
