Margaret Allen, 81 of Bluff Dale, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 in Willow Park.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Bluff Dale Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Glenn Cemetery in Hood County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home.

Margaret was born on December 5, 1935 in Dallas to the late Ben and Ruby McCormick. She grew up in Bluff Dale, her early years, moving to Dallas during World War II and graduating high school from Crozier Tech High School. She worked most of her adult life for major banks, and retired with her husband John H. Allen, Sr. to Bluff Dale in 1997. Margaret substituted in Granbury Schools in the early 2000’s, then worked at different banks in Granbury and Bluff Dale. She was active in the Garden Club and Book Club both in Bluff Dale, but her favorite activity was volunteering at the Bluff Dale School. First in the Library and then with individual classes and children.
Margaret was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Cliff, then Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, and finally the Bluff Dale Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Allen, Sr.

Survivors include her daughter, Leigh Ann Mussell of Cedar Hill; son, John Hunter Allen, Jr. of Bluff Dale; daughter, Patricia Fowler of Bluff Dale; grandchildren, Brandi Chawaga and husband Brian of Norristown, PA, John Chabina and wife Angie of Bluff Dale, and Brian Chabina of Bluff Dale; great-grandchildren, Liam and Avery Chawaga, Holt Barron Chabina, and Wyatt Chabina; brother, Mack McCormick of Bluff Dale; and sister, Neta Sees; and many nephews, nieces, and many friends.

Memorials may be made to the Bluff Dale Baptist Church or the Bluff Dale Schools.
