(March 14, 2017) — Stephenville has run over its first three 8-4A district softball opponents by the combined score of 50-0.
The Honeybees tacked a 17-0 rout of Venus Monday evening onto the back of 20-0 and 13-0 wins over Life Waxahachie and Glen Rose, respectively. Stephenville aims for a 4-0 start to 8-4A action when Midlothian Heritage visits McCleskey Field at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Bees wasted no time shelling Venus, scoring 10 runs in the top of the first before adding two in the second and five in the third. The Bees had 10 hits while Venus had just one and committed three errors.
Senior third baseman Nadine Arredondo continued her impressive slugging with a pair of doubles and 4 RBI, while Bianka Combs went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and three runs scored. Madison Gilder had a double and scored three times, and Morgan DiCiccio was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and 3 runs.
Julia Flores, Sami Shaffer, Jessica Ebeling and Samantha Luna also had hits for the Honeybees.
Flores tossed all three innings from the circle, getting strikeouts for seven of the nine outs while allowing just one hit and one walk.
