FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 pm. Saturday March 25, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Dublin.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 pm. Friday March 24, 2017 at Harrell Funeral Home.

Virginia Ethel Littlepage Beever Little was born in San Saba County, Tx, July 29, 1914. She went to be with her LORD March 15, 2017 at the age of 102 years, 7 months & 16 days. She was the daughter of Noel and Mabel Claire Cherry Littlepage.

The family moved to Goldthwaite and, in 1923, to Dublin. Mrs. Little attended Dublin schools and was valedictorian at he graduation in 1931. She attended Simmons College (now Hardin-simmons University). In 1934 she moved to Pearsall, Texas, to teach school. In December of 1935 she married George Henry Beever, Jr., of Pearsall. Following his death in March, 1937, she returned to Dublin. In September of that year her daughter,, GeorgeAnn Beever, was born. In 1938 she returned to college at Haward Payne, graduating in 1939. From 1940 to 1942 she taught school in Comanche and then moved back to Dublin, Where she has resided ever since. She taught in Dublin schools from 1942 to 1978, teaching first music in grades 1-8 and sixth-grade homeroom, and, later Junior High English. In 1947, she married Joseph Simpson Little, Jr., of Dublin. Mr. Little died in March of 1971.

Mrs. Little was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as organist for several years. She was a member of the Thursday Club, an affiliate of Women’s Federated Clubs, since 1942. She also served on the board of the Dublin Library from the time of its founding in 1954 until 2004.

In addition to her parents and her two husbands, Mrs. Little is preceded in death by her three siblings: Bernice Littlepage of Dublin; Earl Littlepage of Dublin; and Charles Littlepage of Baytown, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, GeorgeAnn and Dale Dukes, of Richardson, Tx; four grandchildren and their spouses and nine great grandchilden: Glenn & Britta Dukes of Austin (Caleb & Atalie); Kevin & Kristin Dukes of Silver Springs, MD (Matthew, Emily, & Timothy); John & Carey Dukes of Austin (Miles & Sophie); and Bill & Virginia Dukes Tolany of Austin (Ari & Connor).

Nieces and nephews and their families: Patsy Littlepage Martin of Georgetown, TX; Dean Littlepage of Bozeman, MT; Bill & Phyllis Beever, Steve Beever, and Barbara Beever, widow of the late Gus Beever, all of Pearsall, TX; Eric & Jane Larner & Mark Laner of Carrollton, TX; Ed Larner of Dublin; Caroll Reid Russell of California and Charlie Reid of Washington, D.C.; great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank those who made it possible for Mrs. Little to remain happily in her home for many years: loving caregivers Noma West & Vera Ivie Nasser; good friends who visited regularly; Stephens Home Health; and Erath County Meals on Wheels. We also thank the good angels of Golden Age Nursing Home for her care during a short; CCS Hospice; and Kathy Harmon & Jeanie Tersell, who cared for her at home during her last days.
