Ronnie Eugene East, born January 28, 1956 in Hico, Texas to parents William and Lillian (Hester) East, passed away in Temple, Texas March 29, 2017 at age 61. Ronnie loved ministry, his grandkids, loved to joke and sing silly songs, and working with drug recovery groups. Ronnie was a graduate of Hico High School and graduated Tarleton State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree and a Master’s in Chemical Dependency. Ronnie was a Captain in the US Army serving for 6 years as a Bereavement Officer and worked 18 years at Gateway Foundation as a drug counselor for women.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hester East. Surviving Ronnie are daughters Sherri Schepers and Kimberly Bell and husband Travis, grandchildren Kyra Drake, Anthony Bell, Macie Bell, Izayik Bell, Zarek Bell, Kittiera Bell, Tansleigh Bell, Wyatt Bell and Jazzlynn Bell. Ronnie is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends.
Burial with military honors follow at Hico Cemetery.
Service Information
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, March 31, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at the First Baptist Church in Hico with burial to follow in the Hico Cemetery.
