ERATH COUNTY (April 8, 2017) – Just like the skeet shooters blasting apart clays in their Saturday competition, the Stephenville Evening Lions Club’s Upland Bird Extravaganza was shooting for a record $220,000 during last night’s wild game dinner and auction.
The two-day event raised the bar once again with early reports indicating the record has indeed fallen through the efforts of sponsors and attendees who were bidding and buying chances on everything from .22 rifles to a Kubota ATV.
The evening’s fare included a delight for the palate with prime rib, stir-fried duck, hush bunnies, a tasty cut of meat only referred to as mystery meat, catfish, wild pork and more.

The best part of course was more money going into the local community as 100-percent of the funds raised go toward supporting more than 25 area organizations.
