Melba Jean Briles Hicks, 90, of Stephenville, went to be with her Savior, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Stephenville.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Valley Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Ward Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at the Valley Grove Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home.
Jean was born to the late Tobe Allen Briles, Jr. and Irene Beatris Goodman Briles. She resided in Stephenville and was a member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and faithful friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeanette Rich and husband Bobby, Allen Washburn, Mike Carter and wife Jane, and Jozann Ray and husband Tim; grandchildren, Toni Price and husband Todd, Brandy Smith and husband Robert, Rainey Brooker and husband Kelly, Dusty Horton and husband Chad, Laura Smith, Jason Smith and wife Julie, Corey Washburn and wife Jenny, Jennifer Renteria and husband Sammy, Katy Carter, Jake Carter and wife Kitsy, Chanell Dayton and husband Frank; a sister, Delorse Wilson and husband George, many great grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two children, Ann Blue and Tobbie Smith; siblings, Jo Johnson, Bea Watson, Betty Powell, and Junior Briles; and grandson Jason Cody Smith.
