Lavon Buckler Burdette, age 85, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Comanche, Texas.

Lavon Buckler Burdette was born on December 15, 1931 to Lou and Grady Buckler. She was the 4th child of 5 siblings- Joe, Mary (Seals), Betty June (Stockwell), and James Buckler. She grew up in the Proctor area until her family moved to the Indian Creek area of Comanche county. There she met the love of her life, Hollis Burdette. They married in 1950 and were happily married for over 52 years. They were proud parents of 3 children: Richard, Donnie, and Carolyn. The greatest joy in her life was being a wife to Hollis, a parent to her children, and later to their 5 grandchildren. She was a very loving, kind person who seldom grumbled and complained. She had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile and laugh. She set a high standard and was a great example to all of us how to be a Christian wife, mother, and grannie.

She is survived by her son, Donnie Burdette of Comanche; daughter, Carolyn Herman and husband, Jon of Pointblank; two granddaughters, Stephanie Burdette Allen and husband Diment of Comanche and Joni Herman Roubion and husband Johnny of Shore Aces; three grandsons, Jade Burdette of California, Dustin Herman of Austin, and Derek Herman and wife Kathy of Seattle; and five great grandsons that she dearly adored: Ace Jones, Jack Allen, Jace Roubion, Joshua Roubion, and Perrin Herman.

She was preceded in death by her son Richard Michael, her husband, Hollis, her parents and her siblings.
