FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 5, 2017, at Killeen Memorial Park.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at East Side Baptist Church on Thursday, May 4, following the funeral service.

Gene Stallings, age 86, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, in Comanche, Texas.

He was born on September 2, 1930, in Fort Mills, South Carolina, to James F. and Effie E. (Ervin) Stallings. Gene was a United States Army veteran. After retiring from the military he worked for Time Warner Cable for many years. On November 30, 1997, he was united in marriage to Helen Sue Morgan Sowle in Comanche. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Stallings of Comanche; children, Frank Stallings of New Jersey, Larry Stallings of Katy, and Dianne Wedel of Belton; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; step-children, Dennis Keating, Nessia Keating, Debbie Riley, and Kim Hennigan; and sister, Elma Merritt of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his former wives, Lieselotte V. Stallings and Annie Geraldine Keating Stallings; and step-son, Taryn Keating.
