STEPHENVILLE (June 15, 2017) – A woman was taken to the hospital via air ambulance and a truck driver from INgrams was taken to TexasHealth Harris Methodist Hospital following an accident that closed part of US 281 in Stephenville on Thursday afternoon.
According to law enforcement, the female drivers of a black Lexus was headed southbound in the 200 block of US 281 when something caused her to veire over into the northbound lane of travel. The 18-wheeler was in the northbound lane and collided with the car, trapping the female.
Just after 2:30 p.m. Stephenville Fire Department, Stephenville Police Department and Stephenville EMS were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters began removing the female from her vehicle. She was taken to Clark Municipal Field where an CareFlight took her to the hospital.
The driver of the truck was taken to the Stephenville hospital and responding units worked to clear the roadway. Units began clearing the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m.
