Harold Murry Fritts, 80, of Stephenville, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday July 16, 2017 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Weldon Branham officiating. Burial will follow at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Harold Murry Fritts was born October 10, 1936 in Gorman, Texas to the late Lloyd Burton and Vera Mae Bratton Fritts. He was a graduate of Comanche High School class of 1955. Harold was also a proud graduate of Texas A&M fightn’ class of 1959. He commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant into the United States Army, serving in the infantry, and was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia and in Fort Hood, Texas. After completing active duty, he continued to serve as a Captain in the National Guard until May of 1968. Harold was an Ag teacher in Mason, Texas before moving to Stephenville in 1961, where he worked as a salesman for Allied Mills. He then formed his own company, Gorman Milling, in 1969. Harold served on the National Pork Producer Board and served as Director of the Texas Grain and Feed Association. Harold was involved in numerous aspects of the Agriculture Industry. His passion for farming, ranching, and family was evident in all aspects of his life. He was a member of the Harvey Baptist Church in Stephenville.

Harold is survived by his wife, Rebecca Fritts of Stephenville; sons, Bob Fritts and wife Lolly of Stephenville, Matt Fritts and wife Angie of Comanche, and John Fritts and wife Dee Ann of Stephenville; grandchildren, John Thomas Fritts (J.T.) and wife Britney, Heather Aguilar and husband Jimmy, Haylee Fritts Dowell and husband Levi, Luke Fritts, Katie Fritts, and Jacob Fritts; great-grandchildren, Alana Lee Aguilar, and Harrison Fritts; and a sister, Judy Arthur of Abilene.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, James Fritts.
