George Edward Lehr, 92, passed away, Tuesday, August 8, 2017.

George Lehr was born January 23, 1925, in Greenwood, Miss. He was a decorated Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 99th Infantry Division. Following the war, he attended Mississippi State University, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Just out of college, he began a career with General Motor’s financial division, GMAC, in 1949, in Jackson, Tenn. Promotions took him to Houston, Abilene, Wichita Falls, and Fort Worth.
He met Imogene Dedeker, who also worked for GMAC, in San Antonio. They married February 23, 1960, at St. Helena’s Episcopal Church in Boerne, and lived in Wichita Falls from 1960 to 1970, when GMAC transferred him to Fort Worth.
He retired in 1986, and enjoyed many good years on his own terms.

Survivors: Wife, Imogene Lehr, of Stephenville; son, James Lehr and his husband, Robi Rhea, of Stephenville; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren
