Stan McCrum, age 64, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017, in Comanche, Texas.
He was born January 3, 1953, in Gorman, Texas, to William Joseph and Dorothy Jo (Weston) McCrum. On May 25, 1994, he was united in marriage to Kay Duncan Coan in Brownwood. Stan was devoted to his wife and family. He had a strong work ethic and most of his life worked in road construction. Over his lifetime he worked for Jay Mills in Stephenville, Comanche County in road maintenance, and was Road Construction Supervisor for Prater Construction. He loved working on tractors and, while working for others, also owned and operated Stan’s Tractor Repair. In his “spare” time Stan loved playing golf, camping at the lake, Christmas, and experimenting cooking all types of meat. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Coan McCrum of Comanche; daughter, Tammy McCrum Long of Dublin; son, Micheal McCrum and wife Jennifer of Dublin; daughter, Melinda Jaggars of Dublin; daughter, Melissa Jobe and husband Jon of Venus; stepson, Shane Simons and wife Christine of Gatesville; stepdaughter, Jennifer Coan Fizer and husband Johnnie of Comanche; stepson, Laston Byrd of Comanche; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry McCrum Daskevich and husband Bob of Ranger; special “Auntie Bill” (Billie Lightfoot) of De Leon; aunt, Dee Weston of Belton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dorothy McCrum; stepson, Jeremy Coan; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
