Malcom Junior Williams

GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Erath County.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Monday, September 18, 2017, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Malcom Junior Williams, age 87, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 in Early, Texas. He was born on May 21, 1930 in Salina, Kansas to Malcom Bunion and Nettie (Smith) Williams. On June 1, 1984, he was united in marriage to LaNell (Westmoreland) Shaw in Austin, Texas. He attended school in DeLeon, Texas from the 2nd grade to the 10th grade and joined the Marines and fought in the Korean War from 1948 to 1952 and was discharged as a Sergeant. His mother died of a heart attack when Junior was only 1 year of age and he and his two sisters were raised by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Junior spent most of his life, after the military, driving trucks and operating heavy equipment over several states for over 30 years. He was injured in 1985 while working for Gold Kist Peanuts in Comanche County by falling off the top of a truck covered with ice.

He is survived by his wife, LaNell, of Comanche; two daughters, Jana Sue and Kenny Hughes of Hobbs, New Mexico and Tresa Dee and Dennis Hart of Seagraves, Texas; two step-daughters, Carma Adcock of Comanche and Tina and Glenn Ross of Austin; stepson, James Adcock and Twila of Gustine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Lou Murphy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Orman Gabhart of Corpus Christi, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Malcom Bunion and Nettie (Smith) Williams; a sister Margaret Gabhart, and a niece, Donna Rasberry.
