Jo Ann Arnold-Sanders

(July 3, 1933 – September 20, 2017) 

Cremation Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 29th at Westview Baptist Church in Slaton, Texas.

Jo Ann Arnold-Sanders (Gjo) died on September 20, 2017 at age 84 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. She was born July 3, 1933 in O’Brien, Texas to Gussie Rex Mull and Crawford Mull. Jo Ann married Billy L Arnold from 1950 – 1983, and later married Malcom Sanders from 1989 – 2005.
She attended Draughn’s Business College and worked as a waitress at Bruce’s Café in Slaton, an office assistant for George Lemon in Slaton, receiving clerk at TG & Y Warehouse in Lubbock. She worked in the warehouse for Norton’s – Saint Go Bain, a homemaker, and secretary for the Edith C Sanders farm corporation until 2016.

Jo Ann survived by: daughter Joy Armstrong and husband David of Lubbock, Texas; Retha (Otsie) Sanders and husband Johnny of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Mary Bebb and husband Russell of Moore, Oklahoma; Mike Sanders and wife Betty of Colgate, Oklahoma; Debbie Deemer and Husband Steve of Broomfield, Colorado; Ben Adams of Bracketville, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson due in December. She has 1 brother, Travis La Duke of Amarillo. Jo Ann had a host of “Nuther Children” of which she was a “Nuther Mother to.”

Jo Ann was preceded in death by husband Billy in 1983 and husband Malcom in 2005; son Johnny Arnold in 2009; 2 brothers, John Rex Mull in 1994 of Lubbock, and CL Mull in 1997 of El Paso.
A memorial service for Jo Ann will be held at Westview Baptist Church in Slaton at 2 PM on Friday September 29, 2017. Graveside service will be at 3 PM Saturday September 30 and conducted by Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin, Texas. Interment will be at Cow Creek Cemetery in Dublin, Texas.
