CTO_we_are_sportsSTEPHENVILLE (October 13, 2017) — Locally-owned radio stations KSTV-AM (1510am/93.9FM) and KSTV-FM (The Mighty 93) are bringing back their Shop Local campaign.

Coming on the heels of an immensely successful inaugural event, the second annual campaign is again designed to encourage spending money locally as opposed to leaving the area and shop elsewhere, such as Weatherford, the DFW Metroplex or even online with companies that have no local ties or vested interest in the economy of Stephenville and Erath County.

It’s a simple process that has not changed since a year ago when Michael Newton purchased the winning ticket from Texas Car Detail in Dublin and was awarded $10,000.

This year, a $10,000 winner will have their ticket drawn at Birdsong Amphitheater at Stephenville City Park after there were traffic congestion and other issues at the Bosque River Center in 2016. The drawing will be the centerpiece of an event beginning at 5:30 p.m. on December 14, the climax of an almost two-month-long shop local campaign that begins on October 19.

Participating businesses – a list will be announced by KSTV and shared on its website and here on The Flash Today.com – will reward patrons a ticket for every $10 spent, for up to $1,000  – that’s 100 tickets – per day. Businesses keep the other matching ticket and on December 14, all tickets are combined for the drawing.

The winning ticket must be presented in person within five minutes of the drawing, or another ticket will be drawn, the process repeating itself until a winning ticket holder on location is identified in time. KSTV encourages participating residents to create a spreadsheet or other document to organize their numbers and track them quickly during the drawing.

More than 40 local businesses are participating and area listed HERE, along with contest rules and more.
