STEPHENVILLE (November 3, 2017) — Kerstin Fredrickson has pieced together quite the second half of a junior college volleyball career.
A 5-10 outside hitter for Eastfield College in Mesquite, Fredrickson was named Metro Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season on Wednesday.
The Bluff Dale native and 2016 Stephenville High School graduate earned the honor for her performances from October 22-28. Fredrickson competed in three matches and 11 total sets during that stretch, collecting 40 kills, 25 digs, 4 service aces and 3 assists. A lot of that damage was done when she fired off a double-double consisting of 21 kills and 14 digs. The stats were part of a release from NJCAARegion5.com, an official website affiliated with the National Junior college Athletic Association.
Fredrickson is teammates with 2016 Dublin graduate Faith Faulkner, and is one of three Honeybees in her Stephenville class to play volleyball collegiately. Kourtney Seaton is playing middle blocker at NCAA Division I Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and Kaleigh Conger competes at North Central Texas College in Gainesville, also a member of Region 5.
