(March 23, 1937 – November 16, 2017)

Lou Chapman, 80, of Stephenville, passed away, Thursday, November 16, 2017, in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 18th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Book and Brother Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday prior to services at 3:00 PM.

Lou was born on March 23, 1937, in Rising Star, to the late Malloy Burton and Emma Floyd Morris. She married James Dewey Chapman on April 10, 1957 in Pioneer, Texas. Lou was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and has lived in Stephenville since 1957. She was a homemaker and was seamstress for several years.

Lou is survived by her husband J. D.; daughters, Louvinda and husband Robert Dunbar of Stephenville, Cindy and husband Jerry Jordan of Stephenville, grandchildren, James and wife Danielle Dunbar and Shawn Ross and wife Holly Black all of Stephenville, Samantha and husband Russell Cater of Conroe, James and wife Amanda Jordan of DeLeon; great grandchildren, Jordan, Allie’Cin, Grace, Cassidy, Felix, Corbin, Kylee, Anson, Bodie, Levi, Seth, Jacklyn, and Tristan; brother, W. A. ‘Dub’ and wife Brenda Morris of Stephenville, and sister, Sylvia Brown of Cross Plains.

Besides her parents, Lou was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Lawson, and Chet ‘Buster’ Lawson.

The Chapman family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Nazarene Compassionate Missionary fund at 170001 Prairie Star, Lenexa, Kansas 66220; or to the Cowboy Church of Erath County Mission.
