BOSQUE COUNTY (November 17, 2017) – Just after 7 p.m. Thursday evening, a two-vehicle accident on State Highway 6 approximately 3.5 miles north of Valley Mills took the life of three young people from Bosque County.

According to the report from DPS Sgt. D.L. Wilson, a 2004 suburban was traveling northbound on Highway 6 and a 2008 Jetta was traveling southbound. The suburban was passing two other vehicles which were also traveling northbound and entered a no passing zone prior to the crash.

The Jetta steered to the southbound shoulder of the highway in an attempt to avoid the crash. However, the suburban struck the front of the Jetta on the southbound shoulder head-on.

The suburban rotated, coming to rest facing southeast off the roadway on the southbound right of way of the highway.  The Jetta spun, coming to rest facing to the east on the southbound shoulder of the highway.

The driver of suburban, Christopher Lee Berry (32) of Clifton was taken to Baylor S & W Hillcrest MC in serious condition.  The driver of Jetta, Diego Heredia (20) of Valley Mills died at the scene, along with Taylor Bradley (19) and Griffin Anderson, who were both passengers in the Jetta.

An investigation into the crash is still ongoing by Texas Department of Public Safety.
