Tarleton to award diplomas in fall graduation ceremonies

STEPHENVILLE (December 4, 2017) — Fall commencement exercises at Tarleton State University are set for Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15 and 16, with approximately 1,190 graduates receiving diplomas.

On Friday, the colleges of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences and Health Sciences and Human Services conduct graduation ceremonies at 1 p.m., followed by the colleges of Liberal and Fine Arts, and Science and Technology at 4 p.m. The ceremony for the College of Graduate Studies takes place at 7 p.m. when all master’s and doctoral candidates are hooded and receive their diplomas.

Ceremonies continue on Saturday beginning with the College of Business Administration and its Department of Management graduates at 10 a.m. The colleges of Education and Business Administration’s departments of Accounting, Finance & Economics and Marketing & Computer Information Systems will conduct ceremonies at 1 p.m.

All five programs take place in Wisdom Gymnasium in the Health and Physical Education Complex. Dr. F. Dominic Dottavio, president of Tarleton, is presiding officer for the ceremonies.

Tarleton will award 1,002 undergraduate, 173 graduate and 15 doctoral degrees during the fall commencement ceremonies.

The presentation of Departmental Outstanding Graduates will precede each college’s processional. The graduates, selected by the administration and faculty in the student’s major department, are chosen for excellence in leadership and academics.
