Duane Lionel Heinrichs, born December 23, 1936 in Dinuba, California to parents Henry and Ida (Langhofer) Heinrichs, passed away in Hico, Texas on January 17, 2018 at age 81. Duane was known as “Dad”, “Grandpa”, or “Poppie” by his children and grandchildren. Duane loved to build things, he loved serving others. Duane enjoyed building websites and working with technology. Duane loved volunteering at the Billy the Kid Museum in Hico. Duane attended Fresno Pacific University and San Francisco State University where he received a Master Degree. Duane spent parts of his earlier years working for Lockheed, teaching auto body and repair at Gavilan College in Gilroy, California, teaching youth at Clavary Baptist Church, Hollister, California. Duane was a test developer at Educational Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey. Duane was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Betty Heinrichs. Duane is survived by brother Arlo Heinrichs and wife Vi, daughter Renee Minnick and husband Bob, daughter Rhonda Heller, son Duane Heinrichs Jr. Duane is also survived by grandchildren, Stacy Lubber and husband Rich, Kim Stucbben and husband Gerhard, Jonathan Heller, and Jordan Heller, great-grandson Lucas Lubbers. A memorial service will be held in honor of Duane at 10am Friday, January 26, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Hico, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to the Billy the Kid Museum in Hico, Texas.

Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 26, at the First Baptist Church of Hico.
