STEPHENVILLE (January 18, 2018) – Did you know that the Protestant Churches were born 500 years ago? In honor of the work by Martin Luther and the many leaders of the Reformation 500 years ago, Faith Lutheran Church is hosting a special celebration Hymn Sing. Everyone is welcome to join the church on Sunday, January 28 at 4 p.m. at the Lutheran Church, located at 3000 NW Loop in Stephenville.
The five basic tenets of the Reformation, known by the Latin word “Sola,” will guide the theme of the celebration: Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Solus Christus, and Soli Deo Gloria.
In addition to the many wonderful hymns, the celebration will include readings, skits, hymns, and songs from cultures around the world.
As we are all part of the “Great Multitude,” we look forward to joining the entire community as we lift our hearts and voices in praise.
Refreshments will be provided following the Hymn Sing and childcare will be provided for children under three.
“Let God speak directly to His people through the Scriptures, and let His people respond with grateful songs of praise.” Martin Luther
