The family will receive friends and family from noon to 2:00 pm Friday before the service. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Peggy was born on July 6, 1940 in Stephenville to the late Robert and Maxine Metsgar Nachtigall. She married the love of her life, Robert Johnston on April 7, 1956 in Stephenville and together they raised six children. Robert preceded her in death on April 29, 2001. Peggy lived all of her life in Stephenville and devoted her life to raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will be remembered for the love she shared with them. She was a member of the Cowboy Church of Erath County.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Terry Lee Johnston and wife Rebecca of Stephenville, Richard Ray Johnston and wife Janet of Ohio, William Randall Johnston and wife Melinda of Stephenville, and Robert Lee Johnston, Jr. of Stephenville; daughter, Mackie Sue Johnston of Stephenville; sister, Shirley Hullum and husband Gordon of Huckabay; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Maxine Nachtigall; husband Robert Johnston; daughter, Charlotte Mercer; grandchildren, Jeffery Glen Johnston, Crystal Gayle Johnston, and Peggy Lee Johnston.
