Guest flutist recital scheduled at Tarleton Fine Arts Center Theater

STEPHENVILLE (January 22, 2018) — Flutist Dr. Krystin Son will perform a free guest recital at 7:30 p.m.  Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the theater of Tarleton State University’s Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.

Instructor of flute at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla., she is sponsored by the Korea Total Economic Institute and LefreQue Artist.

She has performed at major venues across the globe, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Seoul Arts Hall, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and Murchison Performing Arts Center.

Her 2016 Asian tour featured recitals at Seoul Arts Hall, Artsylvia Hall, and Maria Callas Hall in Korea; a recital and masterclasses at the Songkhla Rajabhat University in Thailand; and the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School in Singapore.

Son was first-place winner of the 2014 Myrna W. Brown Artist Competition and invited to perform at the 2015 Texas Flute Festival.

She also is a top-prize winner of the South Carolina Flute Society Young Artist Competition, Upper Midwest Flute Association Young Artist Competition, Kentucky Flute Society Young Artist Competition, American Protégé International Flute Competition, Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition, Mid-Atlantic Flute Society Young Artist Competition, Korea Flute Competition and Seoul Flute Competition.
