STEPHENVILLE (January 23, 2018) — Midlothian Heritage and Waxahachie Life may be on their own level above the rest of District 8-4A, but there are three levels, not two.

Stephenville has proven so far to stand alone behind Heritage and Life, dominating the rest of the district. The Yellow Jackets rode 27 points from Skylar Stilwell to an easy 51-26 win at Gandy Gym Tuesday, strengthening their hold on third place in the league.

Stilwell was efficient with his scoring, going 10-16 from the floor including 3-5 from outside the arc. He was also 4-5 from the foul stripe and collected five rebounds. Stephenville dominated the backboards with 38 rebounds to 17, had 14 assists just five by the tigers and limited Glen Rose to just 10-1 shooting, a shade under 20 percent. The Tigers were especially poor from the 3-point line, going 3-30.

Te Yellow Jackets, on the other hand, were 6-13 from the arc, sinking twice as many long balls on less than half the attempts. The Yellow Jackets were 41 percent shooting. Hayes collected 12 total rebounds while Aragon had six and blocked two shots. Holstein had five steals while Storrs and Pettit had three each.

Next up for Stpehnville is a road trip to Venus. The Jackets return home Friday to give it a go against Heritage.
