STEPHENVILLE (January 30, 2018) — In its District 8-4A rematch with Midlothian Heritage (25-6, 8-2) Tuesday evening, Stephenville (15-13, 6-4) seemed to be in reverse.
In the first meeting in Midlothian the Honeybees started unfathomably slow, not beginning their comeback until the final minute of the first half but still coming back to score an important win.
They lost an even more important one Tuesday, this time starting with an 8-2 lead and enjoying four Hailey Martin 3-pointers through the course of seven lead changes.
But Heritage was hot from the outside, too, and runs in the second quarter to lead 22-21 at intermission and in the fourth to win 47-42 gave Stephenville product and Heritage head coach Jason Hodges his first victory over his old school in five tries.
Freshman Alee McClendon ndeeted eight points, Tess Baker five and Jayci Morton three without hitting a single field goal.
All of Honeybee points are not accounted for.
Could you double check the stats and report
the remainder of the points? Thank you
most sincerely.
