The Yellow Jackets got their bats back on track Friday as they exploded on Senior Night for an 11-1 district win against Waxahachie Light at James. T. Young Field.
Kendal Storrs put the Jackets on the board in the second inning when he came in as a courtesy runner for Trevor Easter who reached the base paths via a walk. Storr then used his baserunning skills to score on a pair of passed balls.
Stephenville put more runs on the scoreboard in the third inning when the Jackets took advantage of more walks with Zane Smith, Derek Gifford Mason Castleberry and Cade Dunavent all earning free passes to first base. Smith, Gifford and Storrs then added three more runs for the Jackets.
Stephenville put the game away for good in the fifth inning with five runs. Walks by Dunavent and Kade Averhoof opened up RBI opportunities for Easter (single) and a double from Gifford.
Mason Castleberry earned the win for the Jackets as he struck out nine batters and allowed just one walk one. Check out the photos below from The Flash Today’s Jessie Horton.
