The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
This quote is from Martin Luther King, Jr. Our city is at a crossroads of challenge and controversy. When tough decisions need to be made, I believe our representatives should stand tall and proud. I believe they should do what is in the best interest of the city for all citizens. We have an infrastructure that is in a state of deterioration, our parks need serious attention, our police and fire departments face new challenges every day and I want to know they are properly equipped when the time comes for their services. I believe we should have a city with reliable infrastructure, properly equipped police and fire departments, and city parks that families can proudly attend. Brandon Huckabee is that candidate that can help us achieve these things. He knows what the issues are; he knows the city budget inside and out. He has prepared himself by becoming informed on the infrastructure and city services that are suffering. He will work to help build up our city and its services into something we can all be proud of. One thing he will not do, is throw up his hands and say we just have more problems than we can handle. He will address the shortfalls head on and come up with responsible ways to address the city’s duties to provide services and infrastructure to all its citizens. We must continue to help our current businesses and give them reliable city services. We must also have the ability to bring in new businesses, as well. Infrastructure is one of many components that new businesses look at when identifying a new location. We must be in a position to take care of what we have while looking at expansion. I believe in Brandon Huckabee and I ask you to join me in supporting him for City Council.
