Wild sits two strokes off lead after two rounds of NCAA Golf Championship

HOUSTON – Casey Wild is two strokes off the lead and in fourth place after two rounds of the NCAA Division II Golf Championship at the Bay Oaks Country Club.

In the second round, Wild shot a 74 (+2) and has an overall score of 143 (-1). Wildcarded a 69 (-3) in the opening round on Wednesday and was in the lead.

The University of Indianapolis holds the top three spots on the individual leaderboard ahead of Wild, with Kylie Raines leading all players with a score of 141 (-3), followed by two players at 142 (-2).

Wild birdied her first hole of the day and was -1 through nine after a bogey-free front half. Wild shot 3-over on the back nine and finished the round with two birdies and 12 pars. Overall, Wild has 25 pars and six birdies in two rounds.

Last year, Wild finished sixth at the NCAA Championships as a junior when competing as an individual, shooting 304 (+16) in the four rounds.

Wild will play the third of four rounds tomorrow morning with tee times set to be announced later this afternoon.
