FUNERAL SERVICES:  2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL:  Oakwood Cemetery

VISITATION:  Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Wanda Lee Clark McCartney, age 79, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018, in Goldthwaite, Texas.

She was born on January 17, 1939, to Shorty and Odessa (Reed) McDonald.  On December 31, 1956, she was united in marriage to Bill Clark in Comanche.  He preceded her in death on May 19, 1996.  She married Allen McCartney on March 4, 2000, in Comanche.  He preceded her in death on July 10, 20, 2017.  Wanda was devoted to her family, a loving mother and awesome grandmother. She was not afraid of hard work and, as well as being a great homemaker, she turned her hand at many things to help with the expenses of raising a family.  She boxed cookies at the cookie shop in Comanche, picked peanuts at Godkist Peanuts, worked in production at Wright’s Leather Goods.  She worked at Durham’s Pecan Company, and worked on the farm.  She went into the restaurant business, and later opened Memaw’s House, a babysitting service, with her daughter, Charla.  Wanda was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Comanche.

She is survived by her daughter, Charla Davis of Comanche; son Danny Clark and wife Kathy of Pottsville; grandchildren: Clint Davis and wife Dena, Krista Munroe and husband Blake, Daivd Ward, Andy Ward and wife Christine, Charlie Dan Clark and wife Kaycee, Josh Clark, Keisha Clark, Blade Reyes and wife Becca; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Linda Clark and husband Barry of Comanche and Judy Hawthorne of Comanche; sisters-in-law, Pat McDonald of Hasse and Molly Clark of Comanche; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Clark; parents, Shorty and Odessa McDonald; brothers, Sonny McDonald and Jack McDonald; sisters, Barbara Kay McDonald and Melba Eulene Harris; and brothers-in-law, Smokey Harris, Bobby Clark and wife Gail, and Buddy Clark.
