AT A GLANCE
No. 24 Tarleton Volleyball will return home after a four-match tournament in Utah to open up Lone Star Conference play. The TexAnns will play a pair of matches this weekend against Texas Woman’s and No. 17 Texas A&M-Commerce.

THE GAMES
The TexAnns will open the weekend against Texas Woman’s on Friday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. The TexAnns will then turn around to play their second ranked opponent of the season in No. 17 Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday at 2 p.m.

NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT
Tarleton is ranked No. 24 in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The TexAnns and Texas A&M-Commerce Lions (17) are the only LSC teams ranked in the AVCA poll, while Angelo State and West Texas A&M are receiving votes. Tarleton has been ranked in every poll since the final ranking of the 2016 season.

THE OPPONENT: TEXAS WOMAN’S
Tarleton and Texas Woman’s have met 57 times since the first meeting back in 1978. TWU leads the all-time series at 33-24, but the TexAnns seven matches with four coming in sweeps. TWU is 6-2 on the season and has won three straight matches.

THE OPPONENT: TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
Tarleton and Texas A&M-Commerce will play for the 40th time in program history when they meet on Saturday. The TexAnns lead the series 20-19 since they first play in 1984. The TexAnns are also 12-4 at home against TAMUC. The Lions are 6-2 on the year and have four wins against ranked opponents.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The TexAnns will host Angelo State on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Wisdom Volleyball Gym.
