AT A GLANCE:
Tarleton cross country will officially open their season this Saturday in College Station, Texas. The Texans and TexAnns were scheduled to start their season at the East Texas Shootout on September 7 but due to weather and lightning in the area, that meet was postponed. Tarleton Cross Country will open the 2018 season on Saturday in College Station at the Texas A&M Invitational hosted by Texas A&M at Watts Cross Country Course.
THE MEET:
The Texans will run an 8,000-meter course at 8:00 a.m. and the TexAnns will run a 6,000-meter course at 8:45 a.m.

RETURNERS:
The TexAnns have all 11 runners returning from last year’s LSC title team that qualified for the NCAA South Central Regional Championships, including the LSC Female Cross Country Runner of the Year in Esmeralda Fuentes. In addition to four all-conference runners returning, Amy Riera was also named the LSC Newcomer of the Year and is returning for her junior year.
The Texans return all seven runners from last year’s squad that finished second at the LSC Championships and advanced to the NCAA South Central Regional Championships. Michael Simcho, Justin Botello and Jarred Elizondo received all-conference honors last season.
