Honeybees fall to top-ranked Glen Rose in three sets

The number three Glen Rose Lady Tigers lived up to their state ranking with a three-set victory Wednesday over Stephenville’s number 21 Honeybees 25-24, 25-9, 25-20.

Stephenville played strong in the first set and was leading 21-19 before Glen Rose mounted a strong comeback attacking the center of the Honeybee’s court.

Being so close and not finishing off the first set seemed to rattle Stephenville and the Lady Tigers surged to a 9-1 lead in the second set.

The Honeybees played a far better third set but the tone had already been established by Glen Rose who was determined to make it a sweep. The win moves Glen Rose to 6-0 in district play while Stephenville falls to 4-2 and is in sole possession of second place.

Jaci Morton led the Honeybees with five kills while Jaydi Griffin had three blocks and ace and a kill.

Stephenville travels to Mineral Wells for a 4:30 PM contest Friday.

Check out the great action shots we captured of the Honeybees in action.
