Week three of district play has teams needing to make their moves

Stephenville and Waco La Vega’s battle last week may have very well determined the District 5-4A champion and what’s left for the Jackets is maintaining a second place spot for the playoffs.

In order to do that the Jackets will have to travel to Brownwood and take care of business against the Lions this week which won’t be an easy task with a road trip and a tough defense facing them.

The Lions are on a four-game winning streak after dropping their first two games of the season 41-10 to Brock and 31-21 to Snyder. Stephenville has to take care of business if it hope to take the second playoff berth out of district as it appears La Vega is in firm control after having already beaten two top ten teams this season.

Dublin controls its own destiny and things will probably boil down to their matchup against Comanche which means the coaches will have to work on keeping the Lions focused on one week at a time. That means the Lions need to stay busy preparing for Jacksboro and nobody else.

Jacksboro may just be 3-4 on the season but their offense ranks second only to the Lions which could mean Friday night in Dublin is going to be a shootout.
