The student-athlete of the month is selected based on the all-around student-athlete for one male and one female. The student-athlete will show effort and excellence in academics, leadership, civility, dedication to the team, campus involvement, community service, and the ability to serve as role models for current and future Tarleton State University students and student-athletes.
To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be nominated by their head coach or athletic administrator and maintain a grade point average of 2.75 or better. Only in-season athletes are eligible for the award each month.
Quenten Lasseter was the top finisher in the last two meets of the season for the Texans’ cross country team. The junior from Robinson High School was named All-Lone Star Conference after his third-place finish (25:39.10) at the 8,000-meter LSC Championships and helped lead the Texans to a second-place team finish. Lasseter also helped lead the Texans to a ninth-place finish at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships placing 31st overall out of 181 runners on the 10,000-meter course with a time of 32:20.20.
Adrianna Darthuy led Tarleton to its first-ever South Central Regional Championship during a memorable month of November for the TexAnns. Darthuy helped Tarleton to a record of 6-2 in November, including three straight wins in the regional tournament to earn a spot in the national championship tournament. Darthuy had double-digit kills in every game of the regional en route to being named to the all-tournament team. For the month, she landed 84 kills and had 66 digs. She was also named All-LSC First Team, All-Region by AVCA and D2CCA, as well as Honorable Mention All-American by AVCA.
Once selected as student-athlete of the month, the recipients are eligible to be selected for Tarleton Student-Athlete of the Year award at the end of the season. The yearly award will be recognized at the beginning of the following fall semester.

October: Kyle Doty (Cross Country) & Adrianna Knutson (Volleyball)
November: Quenten Lasseter (Cross Country) & Adriana Darthuy (Volleyball)
