Women’s Basketball returns to Wisdom for Lone Star Conference action

THE GAMES
Tarleton will close out the first half of conference play at home when the TexAnns take the court in Wisdom Gym this weekend with a Thursday night game against UT Permian Basin and a Saturday afternoon showdown against Western New Mexico. Tarleton (11-5, 4-4 LSC) will tip-off against the Falcons (3-13, 0-8 LSC) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and against the Mustangs (6-9, 2-6 LSC) at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

PROMOTIONS
Thursday night’s game will be “Dollar Night” in Wisdom Gym. Tickets will be discounted to one dollar, as well as drinks, candy and popcorn in the concession stand.

TICKET INFORMATION
The Tarleton State Ticket Office is open from 1:30-4 p.m. in the main lobby of Wisdom Gym and can be reached by telephone at 254-968-1832. Tarleton’s Stephenville Campus Students receive free admission to all home games with valid Stephenville Campus Student ID. Online tickets can be purchased by visting TarletonSports.com/Tickets. Tickets for the Commerce game can be purchased at the gate on game day.

THE LAST TIME OUT
For the second straight season, Tarleton women’s basketball went on the road and upset No. 8 West Texas A&M. The TexAnns (11-5, 4-4) controlled the game from start to finish, as Kaylee Allen scored a game-high 24 points to lift the TexAnns to a 72-65 upset victory. It was the first home loss of the season for the Lady Buffs, who fell to 14-2 overall and 6-2 in the LSC.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ALUMNI WEEKEND

INSIDE THE SERIES: UT PERMIAN BASIN
Tarleton and UT Permian Basin have met 15 times since the inaugural meeting in 2004 and the TexAnns own a 13-2 advantage. Tarleton lost back-to-back meetings in Odessa in 2010 and 2012 for the only two losses in the series but have since won six straight dating back to December 2012. Tarleton has never lost to UT Permian Basin since the Falcons joined the Lone Star Conference.

INSIDE THE SERIES: WESTERN NEW MEXICO
Tarleton and Western New Mexico have squared off five times since 2009, including four as LSC rivals, and the TexAnns have won all five. Tarleton is 2-0 against the Mustangs all-time in Stephenville.
