Brackets set for Lone Star Conference Basketball Championships


STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton Basketball is headed to Frisco to compete for a Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship next week.

The top eight teams from the men’s and women’s standings have advanced to the league’s annual postseason tournament, which will begin with the men on Thursday and the women on Friday. Tarleton is the No. 5 seed in the men’s tournament and the No. 3 seed in the women’s tournament.


The Texans will open the tournament against Eastern New Mexico Thursday at 8:30 p.m. while the women will begin Friday at noon against MSU Texas.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster outlets and, as well as the Comerica Center box office. Single-session tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.

All games will be streamed live free of charge through the LSC’s GameCentral portal ( In addition to supporting desktop and laptop computers, GameCentral’s responsive design will support mobile devices as well (iPad, iPhones, Android).

The winner of each tournament will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA postseason tournament, which will be announced next Sunday night on Tarleton’s women are primed for a return to the postseason by sitting at No. 5 in the latest regional ranking but the men’s team will need to win the tournament to return to the national postseason.
