More businesses busted for illegal gaming

STEPHENVILLE (March 6, 2019) – More local businesses were hit by a different task force this afternoon. This one made up of officers and decetives with the Stephenville PD as well as city of Stephenville officials, Erath County District Attorney’s Office, Erath County Attorney’s Office and agents with the State of Texas Comptroller’s Office executed search warrants at 6 business locations within the city limits of Stephenville. 

A release from the Stephenville Police Department stated, “search warrants were obtained after investigations at all 6 locations revealed violations of State of Texas gambling laws and in some locations violations of city of Stephenville Municipal Ordinances.”

Stephenville PD  detectives seized gaming machines, computers, other electronics, internal circuit boards, documents and records, and U.S. currency during the searches conducted.  The release said while no arrests were made Wednesday, detectives are preparing criminal cases and seeking arrest warrants through County Attorney Lisa Pence’s Office. 

The following is the list of locations searched in Wednesday’s operation:

  • Bargain Town 1111 E. Washington Street, Stephenville
  • Indian Junktion Antiques 302 Morgan Mill Rd. Suite A, Stephenville 
  • Tobacco Plus 1050 E. Washington Street, Stephenville
  • Keno Game Room 1052 E. Washington Street, Stephenville
  • ABC Tobacco Shop 1186 W. Washington Street Suite B, Stephenville
  • Lingleville Game Parlour 1660 W. Lingleville Road Suite C, Stephenville
