Tarleton has a full week of home events surrounding Tuesday’s annual Day of Giving, including a home softball doubleheader and a pre-Easter baseball series from Thursday through Saturday for the Texan Baseball team.

The No. 21-ranked Tarleton Softball team is in pursuit of their third consecutive trip to the NCAA regionals and will host Texas A&M International in their final mid-week doubleheader of the season Tuesday at 1 p.m. The TexAnns are currently in fifth place in the Lone Star Conference standings with an overall record 31-11 and 15-9 in Lone Star Conference play. After they host the Dustdevils on Tuesday, the team will head to Portales, New Mexico for a weekend series on Thursday and Friday.

Tuesday’s twin bill against the Dustdevils will be free of charge for fans in attendance.

Georgia Capell and Jordan Withrow are closing in on two of Tarleton’s most illustrious records. Capell, a sophomore from Midlothian, is approaching the all-time home run record. She has crushed her way into sole possession of second place with 32 career long balls and is closing in on Arianna Rodriguez’s all-time mark (41). Meanwhile, Withrow has also moved into sole possession of second place on the all-time strikeout list (504) and is currently looking to surpass Carla Geeslin (521) as the Tarleton strikeout leader. Withrow and Geeslin are the only players in school history with 500 career strikeouts.

Capell is also ranked in the national top 10 of five different statistical categories – including No. 2 in RBI (53), No. 5 in RBI per game (1.33), No. 3 in home runs per game (0.38) and No. 3 in total bases (108). She is also the national leader in home runs with 15. Jordan Withrow is also ranked No. 8 in the nation with seven shutouts.

Tarleton Baseball will make its return to Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex this weekend after three consecutive weeks without a home game.

The Texans will host Angelo State for a four-game series Thursday through Saturday in Stephenville, ahead of the Easter holiday. The series will be a 1-2-1 format with a doubleheader scheduled for Friday. Thursday’s game will be at 3 p.m. and the rest of the series’ games will begin at 1 p.m.

Thursday’s game will be free for the fans in attendance. On Friday, Tarleton Athletics will be serving free hot dogs and Dippin’ Dots will be available for purchase. Saturday will welcome the 1999 LSC South Division Champion Texan Baseball team back to town for a special pre-game ceremony.

Tarleton Tennis will return to Lone Star Conference play on Saturday with a trip to Wichita Falls and a national top-40 showdown against MSU Texas at 1 p.m.
