Junie Khaw and Casey Leatherman were honored with All-Lone Star Conference accolades Sunday evening. Khaw was named to the league’s first team while Leatherman earned honorable mention status. The TexAnns, under first-year head coach Isabel Jimenez, are looking to secure their 12th LSC Championship school history and 11th in the last 12 seasons.

Tarleton Baseball is headed to Portales, New Mexico for their biggest series of the conference season. The Texans and Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds are battling for the final berth in the Lone Star Conference Tournament and will begin a four-game series at 8 p.m. CT / 7 p.m. MT on Friday evening.

The Texans currently have a one-game lead over the Greyhounds in the league standings. The LSC Tournament is a single-elimination contest held on the weekend of May 9-11. Traditionally held at the league’s top seed, Angelo State will not be allowed to host the tournament if the Rams win the league title due to a schedule conflict at Foster Field. If Angelo State, who is at the top of the standings to date, holds on, the tournament will revert to the home of the next-highest seed.

Tarleton Track and Field have changed the date of their next meet and will now head to Abilene on Thursday instead of Wednesday. Due to inclement weather on Wednesday, Abilene Christian has moved the Oliver Jackson Twilight to Thursday.

Tarleton has three student-athletes looking to improve on their NCAA provisional marks. Jasmine McQuirter has the No. 12-ranked mark in the nation in Long Jump (19′ 5.5”). Rascellis Williams has the No. 16-ranked mark in High Jump (6′ 9.75”). Clashon Gaffney has the No. 21-ranked mark in the Triple Jump (48′ 10.25”).
