Area children (2nd grade through 5th grade) enjoyed a three-day camp, Stephenville Historical House Museum 2019 Camp Pioneer.  This was the 11th year for the camp.  On Day 2, the children got to learn from three guest speakers: Mr. D. Young, Mr. Mike Sheridan, and Mr. C. Rivera.  The children learned about the history of Native Americans from the area and how they were able to adapt to their surroundings to sustain their lives.  The children also learned about plants, animals and animal tracks.  The children even got to see a live rattlesnake (defanged) that Mr. Rivera brought with him*.  The children, of course, also got to enjoy snacks (including bison meat), games and a few crafts associated with the history of Native Americans.

(* The photo of the rattlesnake was taken after the children had been cleared from the building for the safety of the children.)
