Joy Renee Lewis, born October 28, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to parents Fred and Joyce (Frost) Flores, passed away August 3, 2019 in Grand Prairie. Joy loved to travel, gardening, her pets, crocheting, going out to dine, researching and mentoring other cancer patients. Joy mostly loved the simple things cooking and canning vegetables and fruits she grew in herself. Joy also worked for Trane as a resource coordinator for 6 years. Married husband John Lewis November 12, 1992.
Preceding Joy in death were her mother Joyce Frost and sister Cindy Chishum.
Surviving Joy are husband John Lewis of Grand Prairie, father Fred V. Flores of Dallas, daughters Anita Lewis of Terrell, Darla Lewis of Tool, son Greg Lewis of Garland, grandchildren Brendon Lewis, Hunter Ashley, Katelyn Ashley. Also surviving Joy are brothers John Flores and wife Wanda of Murphy, Richard Flores of Plano, brother and sister in-law Melinda and Mark Blackburn of Mabank, brother in-laws, Jack Lewis of Dallas, and James Ray and wife Gayle Lewis of Terrell.
The family will receive visitors from 2 until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6 at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, in the Harvest Hill Funeral Chapel located at 118 Second Street in Hico with burial to follow in the Hico Cemetery.
